NGC 179 is a lenticular galaxy located 3.3 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. It was discovered in 1886 by Francis Preserved Leavenworth. This galaxy comprises several stars lost of interstellar matter and it can be possible to flatten more until they will faint. This galaxy was discovered by the NGC group in 1890s.
