The following reflects the records according to the NCAA. This list took into account victories vacated, due to NCAA action. This includes teams transitioning from Division II to Division I (FCS). This list also includes teams that will be playing their first season during 2015. Conference alignments reflect those for the 2015 season.

- East Tennessee State dropped football after the 2003 season, and will reinstate their team in 2015.
