My Story is the debut studio album by Nigerian recording artist Iyanya, released in 2009 by CN Media. The album was available for purchased on iTunes. Production was handled by ID Cabasa, OJB Jezereel, K-Solo, and Tee Y Mix. M.I, Faze, DJ Zeez, Bokwilla and Ugly made guest appearances on the album.

Background and recording

Iyanya began recording his debut album after winning the 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa competition.

Promotion and release

On October 4, 2009, Iyanya hosted a concert dubbed the "Symphony of Iyanya" to celebrate the release of the album. The concert was held at Ultima Studios in Omole, Lagos.

Musical style

The album is strictly R&B with the exception of a few African hip hop and reggae sounds from the likes of M.I, Bokwilla, and DJ Zeez.

Singles

  • "No Time" was released as the debut single from the album. It features vocals from Nigerian R&B artist Faze.
  • "Love Truly" is the second single from the album. The music video for the single was shot in Nigeria. The song displays Iyanya's vocal abilities.
  • "Iyanya (My Story)" was released as the third single from the album. The music video for the song was shot in South Africa.
