Elections to the municipal council of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.

Since the regain of Spanish democracy, Barcelona had been governed by the PSC, first with an absolute majority and later in coalition with ERC and ICV, but in 2011 CiU gained the plurality.

May 2011

On 22 May 2011, CiU gained a plurality of seats at the municipal election, gaining 15 seats to the PSC's 11. The PP hold 8 seats, ICV 5 and ERC 2.
