Muhammad bin Ahmed al-Shaalan (Arabic: محمد بن أحمد بن عبدالرحمن الشعلان) (died June 2015) was a lieutenant general and commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) up until his death during the Saudi Arabian-led intervention in the Yemeni civil war. In early June 2015, claims by Houthis sources that several Scud missiles were fired by the Houthis from Yemen and hit King Khalid Air Base (rumored), which serves as the center of the Saudi bombing campaign against them. Al-Shaalan was initially reported to have died in a heart attack outside the country by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, and Houthis claims he died during the missile attacks, later it was confirmed that he died in London as he was getting treated.
