Muhamed Filipović (born 3 August 1929) is a Bosnian academic, philosopher, writer, theorist, essayist and one of the most important Bosnian historians. In 1960 he graduated from the Faculty of Arts and attained his PhD. He is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He worked as a professor at the Philosophy Faculty in Sarajevo. He has published fourteen books, some of which have been translated into other languages.

He is seen by many as one of the leading Bosnian academics.
Politics
He is a founder and leader of the Muslim Bosniak Organization (MBO). During the Bosnian War, he was the ambassador to the United Kingdom. He was a dissident and critic of Josip Broz Tito.
