Ms Colombia

Ms. Colombia, aka Oswaldo Gomez, is a New York City based street performer. She is known for dressing in colorful drag while walking around with a parrot on her shoulder.

Gomez originally hails from Colombia where she was a lawyer, and moved to Queens, New York, in 1975. Gomez was inspired to change her lifestyle when she was diagnosed with early HIV in 1988. She participates in many New York City based parades, whether welcome or not. She also pushes a baby carriage around which has her dog in it. In 2013, she had a 'health scare' but recovered.
