Moustafa Mohamed El-Gammal is Emeritus Professor, Faculty of Engineering University of Alexandria, Egypt and Consultant Engineer, Marine Approved Surveyor. Moustafa Elgammal is one of the most influential scientists in the naval architecture and corrosion fields. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering and a M.Sc. Degree in Welding Technology from Alexandria University (one of the oldest universities in the world), he decided to pursue an academic career in naval structure. Hence, he was offered a scholarship to continue his studies in the corrosion field in England. Elgammal completed his studies and attained the Ph.D. degree in the Fatigue of Ship Structures from New Castle University. He continued on benefiting the global community with great expertise, becoming the head of the department of marine engineering at Alexandria University. Likewise, Elgammal received several awards in recognition for his scientific efforts like the Engineering Encouragement Scientific Prize in 1983 and Golden Medal of Sciences in 1985.
