Mount Carmel High School, Patna

Mount Carmel High School is one of the best schools in Patna,Bihar. The school is located in Bailey road, Patna. It consists of two blocks - the primary block and the secondary block. It's an ICSE based school and a pure missionary(and convent)school.Its an only girls catholic school. The area also includes one of the best colleges of patna I.e. Patna women's college and even the college is girls based. The school has very strict rules and regulations. The head department constitute of only nuns. The principal and vice principal are too nuns.Basically,all are Christians.Every Christian girl of the school is supposed to go to the church with their catholic book for praying to God. Everyone is supposed to call the principal and the vice principal "sister". The students call the teachers "miss". Some of the rules and regulations followed in this school are :- The girls are supposed to clean the classrooms which is basically called "duty" in the school which starts from standard 4 till 12 grade and this is like the worst rule of the school. It's child labour for at least grade 4. This rule should be abolished from the school. Students of the primary school are supposed to do two ponies and if they are caught with one pony then they would be punished. If they do some minor mistake without any intension also, you would get punishment. If you do some big major mistake then,the the nuns will pray to god da in the church to give you some punishment and that would come true they say. The skirts worn by the students should be below knee length . If they put mehandi , nail paint,etc then they have to pay fine for that. If they don't put one pony in the primary school and come simply to the school then they would have to pay fine for that too. If the students don't wear shorts and come ,they would get punishment for that and they would have to pay fine for that also. Speaking in English is to be strictly followed and if you talk in hindi then you would have to pay fine for that. [C'mon, India is democratic and we can speak in any language we want with each other]. You are not supposed to wear jeans or any kind of short or tight fitting western clothes on your birthday. There are a lot more rules in the school which cannot be listed here. But this school is really famous and popular for its excellence in all sort of subjects. During the admission season, there is a long queue in the school and the queue sometimes come outside the school also. But there is one famous staff in the high school named "Reena Fernandez" in the school. She is very strict and the students who come in short uniforms, she calls their parents to trouble them. Sometimes she even pulls the students' hair if they do something bad according to her or if the student does not tie her hair properly.This is like the worst problem faced by the students by any staff. The school has a good relationship with Notre Dame Academy, Patna. Every year the school is ranked 1st in the city's best school.{This is sort of unfair with other schools as the government doesn't know about all these rules and regulations of this school especially the child labour one}.The pattern of studying in the school is so much. There are three terms in a session . You don't have any extra curricular activities and in the final term of the exam the full book comes for each subject.Its much harder than CBSE. The worst part of these terms are that you don't get a single day leave also before any subject's exam. So, the final is that it's really difficult for the students to learn the concepts at once and study everything at once. The people get their children admitted to that school because they want their child to become tough and strong in the future. But too tough for life is not good for health.
