Morris Franklin Tyler (August 12, 1848 – December 4, 1907) was an American politician who was the 36th Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut from 1871 to 1873.[1]

Morris Tyler was married to Mary Frisbie Butler. Their son, also named Morris Tyler, was later working in the telephone business and he was a professor of jurisprudence at Yale Law School. The older Morris Tyler was a wholesale boot and shoe merchant. He also served as Mayor of New Haven in Connecticut. He was a Republican. In 1870 he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut and served between 1871 and 1873 under Governor Marshall Jewell.
