Plot
The first season focused on the life of a middle class African-American family through the eyes of a typical girl: Moesha Mitchell (Brandy) and follows her through her daily life as an adolescent in South Central Los Angeles. Her father Frank (William Allen Young), a widower and Saturn car salesman, has married Dee (Sheryl Lee Ralph), the vice-principal at Moesha's school, much to Moesha's and her brother Myles' (Marcus T. Paulk) dismay. Outside of the house, Moesha relies on a group of friends like Kim (Countess Vaughn), Niecy (Shar Jackson) and Hakeem (Lamont Bentley), who frequently hang out at The Den, where she seeks life advice from its owner, Andell (Yvette Wilson).
