Cast

Mister Magoo is an American animated television series which was produced from November 7, 1960, to February 2, 1962. A single episode included five 4 minute shorts and could either be aired together with bumpers as a single half-hour show, or it could be split up with one short aired each weekday, along with other cartoons. It was produced by United Productions of America. The series stars Jim Backus, Mel Blanc, Jerry Hausner, Paul Frees and Frank Nelson.

Cast of characters

  • Jim Backus as Mr. Quincy Magoo, a very near-sighted, cantankerous retiree whose poor eyesight (and stubborn refusal to recognize the problem) is the basis for most of the show's humor. Magoo can mistake a statue for a traffic cop, a horse for a cow and so on, leading to inevitable mishaps.
  • Mel Blanc as Tycoon Magoo, Magoo's rich uncle.
  • Mel Blanc as Worcestershire, Tycoon Magoo's butler.
  • Jerry Hausner as Waldo, Magoo's nephew, who wears a pork pie hat and a bow tie.
  • Daws Butler as Presley, Waldo's con man companion, who sounds like W. C. Fields.
  • Bowser, a pet Siamese cat that Magoo thinks is a dog.
  • Hamlet, a rambunctious hamster who lives in Magoo's home.
  • Caesar, a none too bright hound dog with a southern accent. His nemesis is Hamlet the hamster.
  • Benny Rubin as Cholly (Charlie), Magoo's oriental houseboy. Rubin used an almost identical voice for Joe Jitsu, a Japanese detective on UPA's cartoon series The Dick Tracy Show.
  • Wheeler and Dealer, two small, bratty children.
  • Bea Benaderet as Mother Magoo
  • June Foray as Mother Magoo
