Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulana Moulvi Muhammad Farooq Shah (Urdu;میرواعظ مولوی مُحمد فاروق) was the Mirwaiz of his time in Kashmir and chairman of the All Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee, a coalition of disparate political parties in Jammu and Kashmir that seek resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Moulvi Farooq was assassinated on 21 May, 1990 by gunmen at his Nigeen residence. He is called Shaheed-e-Millat (Matyr of Nation). After his assassination his son Mirwaiz Umar Farooq took his place. Hizbul Mujahideen militant Mohammad Ayub Dar was convicted for the murder and Supreme Court of India upheld the conviction in 2010. Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, who was the chairman of the Hurriyat Conference when it was split into the hardline and moderate factions, categorically stated at a seminar in 2011 that the security forces had played no role in the killings of Mirwaiz Maulvi Farooq, Abdul Gani Lone as well as Abdul Ahad Wani.
