The minute hermit (Phaethornis idaliae) is a tiny species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is endemic to humid Atlantic Forest in south-eastern Brazil, ranging from Rio de Janeiro north to south-eastern Bahia. At average of 6.7 centimetres (2.6 in) long and a weight under 3 grams (0.11 oz), this is one of the smallest known birds.
