The Minnesota Progressive Party is the name of a minor political party in Minnesota. It was first formed as a branch of the national Progressive Party during the 1948 election, supporting Henry A. Wallace for president and also running a candidate for Governor of Minnesota. The name was later reused by Eugene McCarthy as one of three minor state political parties supporting his independent campaign for president in 1988 (the other two being the Consumer Parties of Pennsylvania and New Jersey).
