The Ministry of Public Works and Transport is the government ministry responsible for public works and transport in Cambodia. The Ministry is mandated to "Build, maintain and manage all the transportation infrastructure such as roads, bridges, ports, railways, waterways and buildings" in the nation. Ministry offices are located in Phnom Penh.

Organization

The Ministry is organized into four directorates:

1. The Directorate of Administrative Services has five departments:

  • Administration Department
  • Personnel and Human Resources Department
  • Accounting and Finance Department
  • Planning Department
  • International Cooperation Department
  • 2. General Inspectorate

    3. The Directorate of Public Works maintains a Public Works Laboratory, and has five departments:

  • Roads Department
  • Heavy Equipment Department
  • Technical Research Department
  • Waterways Department
  • Air Infrastructure Department
  • State Secretariat for Civil Aviation - Cambodia's civil aviation authority
  • 4. The Directorate of Transport has three departments:

  • Roads Transport
  • Water Transport
  • Merchant Marine
  • Ports

    The ports of Cambodia are operated and maintained by the Ministry; the two main port authorities are the Port Authority of Sihanouk Ville and the Port Authority of Phnom Penh.

    The Kampuchea Shipping Agency and Brokers (KAMSAB) is an agency of the Ministry.
