The Minister for UK Negotiations on Scotland's Place in Europe is a Junior ministerial post in the Scottish Government.

The post was created in August 2016 during the 5th Scottish Parliament. The Minister will report directly to the First Minister and will be present at cabinet meetings.

History

The United Kingdom European Union membership referendum took place on 23 June 2016. The following position was that Scottish government would be involved in the development of the UK government's position before the trigging of Article 50.
