The Australian Minister for Justice is a government minister responsible for certain matters relating to law and the administration of justice. The Minister for Justice is a more junior minister who supports the Attorney-General, and administers the portfolio through the Attorney-General's Department.
The current Minister for Justice (since 2013) is the Honourable Michael Keenan MP. Michael Tate was appointed the first minister with this title on 18 September 1987 and there have been ministers with responsibilities for justice ever since except between 3 December 2007 and 14 September 2010.
