The Minister for Health and Social Service was a cabinet position in the Welsh Government until 2016. The minister was responsible for the running of the National Health Service in Wales, all aspects of public health and health protection in Wales, the Food Standards Agency in Wales, post-graduate medical education and any charges for NHS services.

Under the Government of the 4th Assembly (2016) the position was abolished with responsibilities being shared between the Minister for Social Services & Public Health and the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being & Sport.
