The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (Irish: An tAire Leanaí agus Gnóthaí Óige) is a senior minister at the Department of Children and Youth Affairs in the Government of Ireland.

The current Minister for Children and Youth Affairs is Katherine Zappone, TD.

Overview

The department was created in 1956 as the Department of the Gaeltacht. Its title has changed several times, the current title was created in 2011. An office of Minister of State for Children existed from 1994 to 2011.

The department is responsible for children and youth affairs.
