The Mini Indian Premier League (IPL) or IPL overseas is an upcoming offshoot of the Indian Premier League, scheduled to be played outside India every September. It was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2016 and will feature the eight current IPL teams, with the games played across a two-week period. The United States and the United Arab Emirates have been suggested as countries to host the tournament.

In July 2016 at the International Cricket Council's (ICC) annual conference four members, Cricket Australia, West Indies Cricket Board, England and Wales Cricket Board and Cricket South Africa all opposed the idea. In August 2016 the BCCI president, Anurag Thakur, said that plans for the tournament were on hold, with a key issue being the time zone difference from the United States to India.
