Early life and career

Johnson was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree. He met and married his wife, Judy and currently lives in Kingfisher where he serves as President and CEO of one auto dealership in Kingfisher.

He has held several public offices including Edmond City Treasurer, Oklahoma City Treasurer and as a school board member in Kingfisher and Oklahoma City. Johnson began his first term in the State Senate in 1999.
