Michael Pärt, sometimes spelled "Michael Paert", (born 17 August 1977 in Tallinn, Estonia; [ˈpær̺t]), holds a master's degree in “Composing for Film and TV" from Kingston University in London and is a Music Producer/Music Editor. He is the son of classical composer Arvo Pärt and co-founder and chairman of the board of the Arvo Pärt Centre.

He has worked together with Icelandic megastar Björk, film directors Peter Jackson, Francis Ford Coppola and Tom Hooper as well as composers Danny Elfman, Alexandre Desplat and Howard Shore, among others.
Michael's most recent film project as Music Editor was Tom Hooper's The Danish Girl.
Additionally, he contributed to award-winning projects such as the BAFTA-winning LazyTown and the Grammy-nominated albums Volta and Vulnicura by Björk and Neon Bible by Arcade Fire.
Arvo Pärt Centre
In 2008 Michael returned to Estonia, the homeland of his father and the country where he was born, to establish the Arvo Pärt Centre, which he chairs. The foundation preserves Arvo Pärt’s creative contribution to the arts for future generations. The Arvo Pärt Centre is currently in the process of finalising plans for constructing a new building for the Centre, set to open to the public in 2018 in Laulasmaa, Estonia.
