Michael J. Hurd is an American psychotherapist, broadcast radio show host, author, public speaker, and commentator. He considers himself an Objectivist. As of 2005, his practice and offices are located in Ocean View, Delaware in the United States.
Hurd received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from The Catholic University of America in 1985, a Master's of Social Work, Clinical, from the University of Maryland in 1988, and a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from the Saybrook Institute in 1991.
He is the author of numerous self-help books, as well as the weekly column "Life's A Beach!" published in the Delaware Wave and the Delaware Coast Press, in Bethany Beach, and Rehoboth Beach, both in Sussex County, Delaware.
He hosted the syndicated weekly call-in radio show "Solutions--Not Excuses" from 1999-2001 for. The shows were broadcast on radio stations KFNX in Phoenix, AZ and WALE in Providence, RI.
