Michael Hughes Kenny (June 26, 1937 – February 19, 1995) was a 20th-century bishop in the Catholic Church in the United States. He served as Bishop of the Diocese of Juneau in the state of Alaska from 1979 to 1995.

Biography

Born in Hollywood, California, Kenny was ordained a Catholic priest on March 30, 1963. On March 22, 1979, Pope John Paul II named him the third Bishop of Juneau. He was consecrated by the pope on May 27, 1979. The co-consecrators were Archbishops Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy who was secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and Eduardo Martínez Somalo who was an Official of the Secretariat of State. He served the diocese for 15 years until his death on February 19, 1995.
