Michael Emile Mahfood (born June 21, 1949) is the founder of Group M7 (est. 1995), one of the oldest continuously operating web services companies in the United States. The company's motto is "Since 1995, there is only one web, and there is only one group, and it's Group M7." Group M7 currently manages in excess of 1,000 websites.
In July, 2017, Mahfood was appointed to the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Foundation Board. From November, 2012, till July, 2017, he served as the chairman of the Finance Board of the Catholic Diocese of Tyler, TX, under Bishop Joseph Strickland. He also served from 1986-1991 as a personal secretary to Bishop Charles Herzig, the first bishop of the Diocese of Tyler. In support of the Church in East Texas, he is the sponsor of the Michael and Suzann Mahfood Scholarship, which assists in the advancement of Catholic education.
His publications include "Browsers, Business and Bandwidth: A Personal Journey down the Information Highway from the Beginnings of the World Wide Web to the Present" published by Rutgers University's Decision Line (October 2010) and many articles written for Tyler Today over the span of a decade.
His knowledge of technology and internet workings is a valued resource, often used by local news media.
Among his notable relations are Dr. Valerie "the Wolfe" Mahfood, four-time boxing champion, and Dr. Sebastian Mahfood, OP, founder of the Catholic Distance Learning Network. He has been married to Suzann Mahfood since 1971. He is also the brother of Phillip E. Mahfood, author of three books (Teleselling, Homework, and Customer Crisis), and talk show host on the Texas Stats Network in the mid-1990s.
