Michael Day is a trial attorney in Boston, Massachusetts. He currently practices in the litigation section at the law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C..

In 2010, Day was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the Massachusetts State Senate seat representing the Middlesex-Essex District, which included the cities and towns of Lynnfield, Malden, Melrose (Wards 1-5), Stoneham, Reading and Wakefield. Day initially announced his intention to seek the seat in 2009 and appeared to be the only candidate who would challenge the long-time incumbent and State Senate Minority Leader, Richard Tisei (R-Lynnfield). In November, however, Tisei announced that he would vacate the seat and campaign for the position of Lieutenant Governor as a member of the Republican ticket headed by Charlie Baker. By January, two other candidates had emerged in the race: Katherine Clark, a Democratic State Representative from Melrose, and Craig Spadafora, a City Councilor from Malden. Clark eventually defeated Day in the primary, and went on to win the general election.
