Metropolitano is a station on Line 6 of the Madrid Metro. It is located in Zone A.
The station opened to the public on 13 January 1987 as part of the extension of line 6 to the Ciudad Universitaria and takes its name from the Colonia del Metropolitano area urbanized by the Compañía del Metropolitano (now Metro de Madrid) in the 1920s. .
