Methyl eugenol (allylveratrol) is a phenylpropene, a type of phenylpropanoid compound, the methyl ether of eugenol. It is found in various essential oils. It is an oil that can be destilled from the wood of Huon Pine (Dacridium Franklinii) from Tasmania, Australia. A wood that is very indestructable and therefor almost extinct at the westcoast of Tasmania. It is used for boatbuilding and furniture amongst other precious wooden artefacts.
