Meridian Institute is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1997 with offices in Dillon, Colorado and Washington, DC. The mission of the organization is to help people solve complex and controversial problems, make informed decisions, and implement solutions that improve lives, the economy, and the environment. Meridian Institute conducts multi-party collaborative process design and problem solving, mediation and facilitation of a variety of groups, alternative dispute resolution processes, and meeting planning and execution. The organization facilitates processes that range from local, site-specific dispute resolutions to national policy dialogues to international negotiations. Meridian Institute works regularly with federal, state, local, and tribal government officials, business leaders, scientists and technical experts, foundation executives, representatives of nongovernmental organizations, and other important stakeholders. Its projects focus primarily on the following topic areas: agriculture and food security, climate change and energy, environment and natural resources, global stability and security, health, sustainability and resilience, and science and technology.
