This is a list of members of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1955 to 1958. At this time the Council was not directly elected, but was chosen by a joint sitting of the New South Wales Parliament.

1 Labor MLC Walter Padgen died on 8 May 1955. Liberal MLC Henry Horne died on 14 July 1955. Liberal candidate Herbert FitzSimons and Labor candidate John Kenny were elected to replace them on 14 September 1955. 2 Labor MLC Alan McNamara died on 5 May 1955. Liberal MLC Thomas Armstrong died on 13 June 1955. Liberal candidate Colin Begg and Labor candidate Christopher Love were elected to replace them on 15 September 1955. 3 Labor MLC Peter Fallon died on 9 February 1956. Labor candidate Gavin Sutherland was elected to replace him on 2 May 1956. 4 Labor MLC John Stewart died on 8 April 1957. Labor candidate Tom Dougherty was elected to replace him on 24 September 1957.
