Basketball Player

Melike Bakırcıoğlu (born February 24, 1987 in İstanbul, Turkey) is a Turkish female basketball player. The young national plays for Fenerbahçe İstanbul as forward position. She is 190 cm tall and 79 kg weights. She is playing for Beşiktaş Cola Turka and also played for Fenerbahçe İstanbul between 2005-10 seasons. She played 150 times for Turkey national women's basketball team.

Bakırcıoğlu is another player from the next generation of Turkish players. She is the outside shooting inside player that can change a game in the blink of an eye. Despite her tender age, she is a cold-blooded shooter as evidenced by her 4-for-4 three-point shooting night against Italy’s zone defense in the Ten Nations Tournament. Though she still lacks the aggressiveness to be really effective, coach Akdağ has found a way to install her into the strategy. Bakırcıoğlu is the designated double teaming player on defense. With her quick feet she is instantly on the double team.
