Melanobatrachinae is a subfamily of microhylid frogs. It contains a single monotypic genus, Melanobatrachus . It is endemic to the Western Ghats of India. Two African genera, Hoplophryne and Parhoplophryne , that were previously placed in this subfamily are now in a subfamily of their own, Hoplophryninae.
