Melanie Paquin (born 1981) is a woman who won the Miss Canada competition on October 24, 2009 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, defeating Princilia Nzamba Djombo and Catherine Boucher who were named first and second runners-up respectively. Djombo spoke highly of Paquin and said they had a good time together. Paquin said that winning the competition convinced her that she could achieve her goals in life. Paquin was born in Abitibi-Temiscamingue, but was living in Gatineau at the time of her win. She had previously entered the 2007 edition of the contest and had finished second. She entered the Miss Piel Dorada beauty pageant in Mexico City, Mexico in 2010. She studied criminology in hopes of becoming a probation officer. She works as a bartender.
