Maurizio Chiarini (born 7 September 1950 in Ferrara, Italy), is an Italian businessman and Chairman of SUFER SpA.
Chiarini graduated from the University of Bologna.with a Political Science degree with a major in Economics. He began his career as the Director of the Economic and Social Research Centre of Ferrara.
From 1989 to 1995, he was the Chairman of SUFER SpA, a leading company in the Renewable Energy Sector. From 1995 to 1999 he was a partner at SMAER, a management consultancy company in charge of Public Administration, and was a member of the Board of Directors. In 1999, he became the Managing Director of Agea SpA and on April 28, 2005 the Board of Directors of Hera Group appointed him CEO, a post he held until 2014.
