Matthias Aschenbrenner is an American mathematician. He is a professor of mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research interests include differential algebra and model theory.

Career

Aschenbrenner received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001, where he was a student of Lou van den Dries. For his dissertation, he was awarded the 2001 Sacks Prize by the Association for Symbolic Logic. In 2012, Aschenbrenner became a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
