His one and only First Team appearance for QPR was in their 2–1 win over Leiecester City at the Walkers Stadium in September 2005 in a Championship match. He did originally impress but was stretchered off midway in the second half with a suspected broken ankle. Despite initial fears, the injury was not as bad as reported and he made a fairly quick recovery.

In the Summer of 2006 it was announced Hislop would be leaving the club, but then was re-signed for the 2006–07 season. In January 2007 it was announced Hislop would be leaving the club by mutual consent.
