Councilwoman Mary Pinkett visits MEC campus


Mary Pinkett was the first black New York City councilwoman and served 28 years from 1974 until 2001 when she was term-limited out of office. She died in 2003 at the age of 72. Parts of Washington Avenue in Brooklyn are named after her.
