Martin S Gumpert (November 12, 1897 – April 18, 1955) was a Jewish German-born American physician and writer.
In 1936, he went to America. In 1942, he became a US citizen. Gumpert provided the German author Thomas Mann with information about the course of the disease of syphilis. Mann used this information in writing his Faust novel, Doktor Faustus: das Leben des deutschen Tonsetzers Adrian Leverkühn, erzählt von einem Freunde.
