Mark Williams ZNZ is the 1990 follow-up to Mark Williams' first Australian album, Life After Dark, released 10 years earlier. The album proved to be significantly more commercially successful than its predecessor, and spawned the most-successful single of his career in Australia, "Show No Mercy". The single reached #8 on the Australian ARIA singles charts, and was chosen to launch the 1990 Rugby League Grand Final. The single achieved an ARIA platinum certification, and was ranked the 25th highest-selling single of 1990 in Australia. In New Zealand, "Show No Mercy" peaked at #9.

The album reached #45 on the ARIA albums chart, and a second single, "Fix of Love", peaked at #28 on the ARIA singles chart. A third and final single, "Spell Is Broken", failed to enter the ARIA top 100.
