Marion R. Buller was the first aboriginal woman to be appointed British Columbia Provincial Court judge in 1994. She ruled on cases in several locations in BC]]. She was instrumental in establishing the First Nations Court of British Columbia in 2006 and the Aboriginal Family Healing Court in 2016. She currently is the Chief Commissioner for the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
