Maria E Schonbek

Maria Elena Schonbek is an Argentine-American mathematician who works as a professor of mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research concerns fluid dynamics and associated partial differential equations.

She received a bachelor from the University of Buenos Aires, and earned her Ph.D. from University of Michigan in 1976.

In 2012, Schonbek became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
