The March 6–9, 1998 North American storm complex, was a particularly powerful snowstorm originating on March 6. It was the biggest storm to hit Chicago since February 14, 1990, when 9.7 inches fell over two days. This storm dumped varying amounts of snow across the area. Chicago's Southwest Side was also hard hit, with 10.9 inches recorded at Midway International Airport.
