Manor House Agricultural Center (MHAC) has been teaching sustainable agriculture to small-scale farmers at its campus in Kitale, Kenya. The Center was established in 1984 in response to a three-year drought that caused severe hunger in the rural areas of Kenya. The Center is registered as a non-profit trust, dedicated to improving the quality of life of rural small-scale farmers. An American named Polly Noyce is the Center's founder and remains an active member of the school's Board of Trustees. Since its creation the school has trained well over 100,00 farmers in Kenya and other parts of Africa<http://www.mhacbiointensive.org/>. Manor House Agricultural Center maintains close ties with the US based Ecology Action<http://www.growbiointensive.org/partners_main.html>.
