Manki Sharif is a town and Union Council of Nowshera District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located at 34°1'0N 72°20'0E with an altitude of 289 metres (951 feet). Manki is also the home of one of the most powerful families in Pakistan. The Khattak family of Manki village includes Nasrullah Khan Khattak ex Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Khattak family (Abdul Munaf Khan Khattak & Haji Taj Mohammad Khan Khattak) is responsible for building the principle road Islamabad back in '57 '58 and carried out massive construction works back in the early days of Pakistan. Nasrullah Khan Khattak son of Haji Taj Mohammad Khan, built around hundred bungalows in Okara Cantt while its development. Abdul Munaf Khan Khattak was the one who laid the foundation of joining Khudai Khidmatgar back in 1928 and his predecessors are still loyal to this very party now known as ANP. Taj Mohammad Khan was elected as an MPA in 1970, also his grandson Tariq Hameed Khattak was twice elected MPA in '90 and '97. Manki Sharif also has the honour of producing its first engineer in 1952, known as Mohammad Akbar Khattak. The current Chief Minister of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa is also from Manki Sharif.
