Mangi is a small village approx. 20 km from Bhusawal in district Jalgaon of Maharashtra state, India.

History

There are no evidences to prove the existence of the village in the past but the school 'Marathi Mulanchi Shala' which is now a zila parishad shala was established in 1914. According to the elders in the village most of the people from the village were engaged in farming. The majority of population in the village consists of people from koli community. According to them the other communities came into the village afterwords. After independence also there was no drinking water facility in village till 1985. In 1985 the village got its own borewell and water supply system for water supplies. Previously the farmers from the village were dependent on traditional farming but after independence they have changed their

Geography

Mangi is approx. 20 km from Bhusaval. It comes under the Jurisdiction of Raver. The nearest small town to Mangi is Savada and Faizpur which is approx 9 km from Mangi. Approx. 40 km in the north one can reach Satpura Range. Within the radius of 1 km from mangi there are three more villages, Chunvade in the East, Karanji in the North and Ridhori in the west. The nearest railway station to the village is Duskheda which is again 7 km from mangi.

Mangi has a Marathi medium school established in 1914. Earlier it sued to be known as Marathi Mulanchi Shala. Now it is a Zila Parishad School.
