Manghrotha or Mangrotha is a town in Dera Ghazi Khan District, in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

Manghrotha is town situated in district Dera Ghazi Khan and in Tehsil Taunsa Sharif. Very limited resources are provided to the village. Mangrotha is historically important place. It has been the capital of semi-independent state of Sanghhar. Nutkani Baloch (Rind Balochs ruled it till the end of eighteenth century AD. Nawab Asad Khan and Nawab Massu Khan were famous rulers of the place. Asad Khan saved his state from Sikh occupation. The national language of the Baloch is Balochi. But in this region common language is Saraki. Nutkani Baloch is one of ruling baloch tribes in the region, living in the Mongrotha and nearby area of Taunsa Sharif and Dera Ghazi Khan. The Nutkani is major cast and Shadani, Kartani, Mustoi, Asadi, Maswani, Mundrani, Machrani, Malkani, Datani, JHANDIR are the largest clans of Nutkani tribe.

  • Also Lashari, Jatt Kalro, Kumhar, Syed Habibani, Qureshi, Malik, Qaisrani peoples are living in Mangrotha .
  • Nowadays leading Sardars of Mangrotha are Altaf Khan Nutkani, Sardar Aslam Khan Nutkani, Sardar Altaf Khan Shadani, Sardar Zaigham Khan Nutkani and Muhammad Arif Khan Mustoi.

    Nutkani tribe is distributed all over the area in Nutkani and Makwal Klaan as well.
