History

Sisters Mandy and Rebecca Wolfe founded Mandy’s in 2004 in the back of the women’s clothing store, Mimi&Coco. The idea of Mandy’s was conceptualized when Rebecca returned to Montreal after living and studying in New York City, where salad bars were seen on every corner. The sisters saw a need for this type of healthy food offering in Montreal and decided to try and fill that need.

Mandy, the culinary inspiration behind Mandy’s created an original menu while Rebecca designed the interior of the restaurant and handled everything pertaining to branding. Their healthy, gourmet salads quickly grabbed people’s attention and there was an immediate demand.

In 2008 they opened a second location in the back of another Mimi&Coco on Laurier Ave. in Outremont. This second location offered seating.

They opened their first storefront in 2013 on Sherbrooke Street in Westmount.

In 2015 Mandy's opened up their second storefront on Crescent Ave. in downtown Montreal.

Products

Mandy’s product offering includes smoothies, ready-made salads, house salads as well as custom salads. Apart from salads, bottles of their homemade vinaigrettes are available for purchase at each of their locations. Soups can be found on the menu during winter months. Additionally Mandy’s serves homemade desserts such as brownies and chocolate chip cookies.

Mandy’s also sells a variety of retail products such as T-shirts with Mandy’s insignia, beverages (i.e. cold brews, juices, sodas, etc.), and other types of snacks (such as chocolates, organic popcorn, Stacy’s chips, etc.).

News

In 2014, The OQLF ordered Mandy’s to take down all English signs in their restaurant. In an interview with the National Post, Rebecca Wolfe said: “We always take pride in having bilingual aspects all over our store and making sure that it’s 90% French. We do have a little bit of English because 95% of our client base in Westmount is English”.
