Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) is a rural university at Chitrakoot, India.It has been accredited Grade A by NAAC. It was established on February 12, 1991 by social activist Padm Vibhusan Nanaji Deshmukh, by a separate MP Government Act (9, 1991). Named after Mahatma Gandhi this university aims to provide higher education to people living in rural areas. The university is dedicated for teaching, learning, research and extension. It offers its students and staff members facilities such as a central library, computer centre and mess. The campus is fully Wi-Fi.
Gramodaya University’s activities in education, research and extension focus on rural development. The university creates human resources, develops appropriate technologies, conducts research and extension in sustainable agricultural techniques for rural livelihood and proper management of rural resources. It also imparts mass education for the empowerment and awareness of the rural population including women, and supports the exploration of alternative sources of energy.
