Maharani jaiwanta bai

Maharani Jaivantabai Songara was the first wife of Udai Singh II, and mother of Maharana Pratap. She was the daughter of Akhey Raj Songara chauhan of Jalore, a princely state of Rajasthan. She was also known as Jeevant kanwar before her marriage as after marriage the title kanwar changes into the title bai. Jaiwanta advised Udai Singh on political matters. Although she faced many problems, she never failed at her administrative work. Her son, Pratap was in line to become king, but Udai Singh's favorite wife, Rani Dheer Bai Bhattiyani, wanted her son Jagmal to become the king. After Rana's death in 1572, Jagmal ascended the throne as per his father's wishes. Just before the accession ceremony was to begin, Pratap's followers physically moved Jagmal to another seat and Pratap ascended the throne.
